The FDA has announced a recall of ELV Control Herbal Supplement, a product marketed for use in weight loss, due to the presence of a deadly plant. The herbal supplement is sold only through authorized retailers and is not available through e-commerce platforms or physical stores. If you believe you may have purchased this product, carefully read further to determine if you may be affected by the recall.

As of the writing of this notice, the FDA has not announced any adverse events related to the contamination.

ELV Control Herbal Supplement is sold by authorized retailers, such as www.immunodx.com. The product is not available in stores. The capsules are contained within a white, egg-shaped container with a blue lid bearing the Green ELV Nutrition logo and the phrase “100% Natural.”

Reason for Recall

Random FDA testing found the presence of yellow oleander within the product. Not only is the plant’s presence not clearly identified on the packaging, but it is also extremely dangerous when consumed.

Impacts

Consumers who ingest yellow oleander may experience adverse health outcomes and symptoms such as:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Dizziness
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal Pain
• Heart Changes
• Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat)

Consumers should locate their supplement packaging and compare the batch number and expiration date to the chart below. If you find that your batch number and expiration date match, read further for instructions on taking part in recall procedures.

If you find that your lot of medication is part of this recall, do the following:

1. Stop using the medication right away.
2. Call your doctor right away. Ask for a new prescription to replace your recalled medication and report any changes in your symptoms.
3. Monitor your health for any adverse symptoms and notify your physician if you have concerns.
4. Consumers should contact World Green Nutrition, Inc. by telephone at 1-956-612-8408. They are available Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (CT).
5. If you are currently experiencing or have experienced an adverse reaction to this medication (listed above), notify your physician immediately and notify the FDA by calling 1-800-332-1088 or completing an online reporting form.
6. Contact MedWaste Management for information and assistance with disposing of the recalled medication.

1. Examine all inventory and remove stock affected by the recall immediately.
2. Contact World Green Nutrition, Inc. by telephone at 1-956-612-8408. Notify them of any recalled batches that have already been sold to consumers.
3. Notify affected consumers of recalled batches that they have already or will receive.
4. Contact MedWaste Management for information and assistance with disposing of the recalled medication.
