The FDA and Insight Pharmaceuticals have announced a voluntary, nationwide recall of TING® 2% Miconazole Nitrate Athlete’s Foot Spray. During a recent review, inspectors noted the presence of a known carcinogenic substance within some lots of the spray.
As of the writing of this notice, the FDA has not yet received any serious adverse event reports related to this recall.

Product Description
Pharmacies and online retailers nationwide distributed the recalled product. The spray was packaged in green and white aerosol cans with green plastic caps. Consumers can view lot numbers printed on the bottom of the can.
Reason for Recall
Routine testing found that the lots involved contained elevated levels of benzene, a known human carcinogen. Benzene is not an ingredient in the product and has contaminated the spray through the propellant.
Impact
Consumers who continue to use the recalled product put themselves at a high risk of exposure to elevated levels of benzene, which is absorbed through the lungs, mouth, or skin. Exposure to benzene may lead to life-threatening conditions such as leukemia or certain blood cancers and disorders.
Lot Information
Consumers who use this product should compare the lot number found on the bottom of the can, as well as other identifying information, with those listed on the chart below. If they are a match, read further to determine the necessary additional steps that must be taken to comply with the recall.
