“I’m happy with this company for so many reasons. Mainly because I don’t even have to think about it. We have so much to handle at the fire station. We call them when needed and they take care of everything accumulated from our runs and people dropping off their needles and medicine.”

Medical Waste Disposal in Pleasanton, California

Supporting Pleasanton’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Sector

Pleasanton isn’t just a great place to live; it’s also a leader in quality healthcare and innovation. With major institutions like the Stanford Health Care Medical Center, advanced diagnostics labs, and specialty practices across the city, a wide range of medical waste is generated daily.

As the local population grows and the demand for care increases, safe and compliant waste management becomes a top priority. Providers in Pleasanton need a trusted partner who understands the complexities of regulation, scheduling, and sustainability.

How MedWaste Management Serves Pleasanton

MedWaste Management is a California-based company with four strategically located service hubs: in Los Angeles, Hayward, Lynwood, and Stockton. Our Hayward facility enables fast, efficient, and cost-effective service throughout Pleasanton and the East Bay region.

We provide a complete range of medical waste disposal services for clinics, dental offices, surgical centers, laboratories, and senior care facilities, including:

  • Direct, in-house waste collection and treatment with no third-party haulers
  • Flexible pickup options from scheduled weekly routes to on-call service
  • Transparent pricing meaning no hidden fees and no surprise charges
  • No long-term contracts required so you have full flexibility for your facility
  • Compliance support including OSHA, HIPAA, and DOT training, manifest tracking, and documentation management
  • Sustainable disposal methods that align with California’s environmental and public health goals

With MedWaste Management, Pleasanton healthcare providers gain a reliable service partner who helps simplify compliance, reduce risk, and maintain a clean, safe workplace.

Navigating California’s Medical Waste Regulations

Under California’s Medical Waste Management Act, healthcare facilities are required to properly segregate, package, label, store, and transport all regulated waste, from sharps and contaminated materials to pharmaceuticals.

These rules are designed to protect healthcare workers, patients, and the environment. Noncompliance can lead to costly penalties or operational disruptions.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) provides detailed guidance on how to remain compliant, but navigating these regulations can be complex. That’s why MedWaste Management offers hands-on compliance support, training resources, and complete documentation for every pickup. With us, Pleasanton providers can stay focused on patient care while we handle the regulatory side.

Committed to Pleasanton’s Healthcare and Business Community

Pleasanton’s blend of innovation, professionalism, and community focus is reflected in its healthcare and life sciences industries, and MedWaste Management is proud to support that mission.

From the Hacienda Business Park to local medical offices and senior care facilities, our team delivers dependable, responsive service tailored to each client’s needs. We work closely with providers to design custom waste management plans that streamline operations, improve compliance, and ensure long-term peace of mind.

For medical waste disposal in Pleasanton, trust MedWaste Management, your local, compliant, and environmentally conscious partner for professional waste solutions across California.

Will the price change?

Your price is guaranteed for 12 months from when you start services.

● You are never locked into a contract.
● You can change or cancel services at any time, without penalties or fees with a written notice.
● After 12 months, we have the right to increase pricing, with 30-day advance written notice.
● Any new pricing will be guaranteed for another 12 months.
● Price increases are not automatic or planned and are made on a case-by-case basis. In most cases, prices are not increased for a number of years.
● Our pricing for services is based on your location, the type of waste that you are generating, and how often you need services.

What’s the difference between a contract and a service agreement?

While your price for service is guaranteed for 12 months, you are never locked into a contract. Our service agreement is a document that details the services that MedWaste will provide along with the price that you can expect to pay.

It is not a locked contract, and you may cancel or change services at anytime without fees, penalties or damages. See a sample of the MedWaste service agreement that is currently in use here.

When do you bill for the service and how can invoices be paid?

MedWaste will send an invoice at month’s end for all services performed and products delivered during that month.

The invoice is due 15 days after its receipt. You will be asked if you’d like to receive your invoices through email or regular mail. All invoices can be paid with credit card or check.

Enroll in Autopay by completing and submitting an authorization form or by enrolling through your accounts online portal.

How often must my medical waste be collected?

According to the regulations in California:

– More than 20 pounds of biohazardous waste per month, you can store your medical waste onsite for up to seven days.
– Less than 20 pounds of biohazardous waste per month, you can store your medical waste onsite for up to 30 days.
– Storing your biohazardous waste at or below 32° Fahrenheit i.e. in a freezer, you can store your medical waste on-site for up to 90 days.
– Pharmaceutical waste that can be stored on site for up to 90 days from when the container is ready for disposal.
– The container should be emptied at least once per year according to medical waste regulations.
– Odor and storage considerations may require that you remove your waste more frequently.

What if we we’re scheduled for a collection but actually don’t have any waste that time?

If you don’t expect to have any medical waste for disposal when your service is scheduled to occur, give us 24 hours notice Monday through Friday and we will gladly skip that scheduled service. No service charges will apply.

What time do your pick-ups take place? What if we need a pick-up outside of your regular hours?

Most of MedWaste’s pick-ups occur between 7am and 4pm. However, MedWaste can usually accommodate facilities that need their waste collected earlier or later.

What if we need an extra pick-up between our scheduled pick-up times?

If you need an extra pick-up between your scheduled pick-up times, we are happy and able to help. Simply call or email us and we’ll quickly schedule your extra pick-up . Standard service charges will apply.
MedWaste is flexible and we try to meet the individual scheduling needs of each of our customers.

Are there circumstances when a facility must remove waste more frequently?

Odor and storage considerations may require that you remove your waste more frequently.

What is a tracking document and how does it work?

In California, medical waste is tracked using approved documentation from the point of its creation until its treatment for disposal. MedWaste uses approved electronic medical waste tracking documents, a superb and compliant way to easily and accurately track medical waste.

When your medical waste is collected, our driver and your customer rep will sign a state-approved electronic tracking document on the driver’s mobile device. The electronic tracking document details the amounts and types of medical waste collected at that time. As soon as the tracking document is signed, it will be sent to you by email. It will also be permanently stored on your Compliance Program account, so you can view and print it at anytime.

When your medical waste is dropped off for treatment and disposal, you will be sent, and have access to, the updated tracking document that has the added signature of the treatment facility’s representative. The invoice that you receive for service (by mail or email), will detail the waste that was collected, and attest to, and certify, its proper treatment and destruction.

At any time you can view, download and print your past medical waste tracking documents by logging in to your Compliance Program. Your compliance program username and password are sent to you as soon as your account is created, and can be resent by request.

See a sample medical waste tracking document here.
