FDA Recall of Another Male Enhancement Capsules Announced

The FDA announced another recall related to male enhancement capsules. Schwinnng, manufactured by STOP CLOPEZ CORP, contains Nortadalafil, a drug not approved for use in over-the-counter medications and supplements. When combined with certain prescription medications, this substance can be dangerous, even life-threatening.

As of the writing of this notice, the FDA has announced no adverse events related to this recall.

NOTE: This recall is not to be confused with a previously posted recall of the Schwinnng® Herbal Dietary Supplement from Today the World. While the products bear the same name, are marketed similarly, bear the same packaging, and contain the same substance without approval, they are sold by different companies and, therefore, were likely still available for sale on www.amazon.com up until the time of this recall.

Product Description

Schwinnng is an over-the-counter supplement marketed as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. Its packaging is identical to a previously recalled product from Today the World. The capsules are packaged in a box containing ten capsules. The box is maroon with green accents on the top and bottom. It bears the name “Schwinnng” in white letters on a green arrow. The tagline “Put a Rocket in Your Pocket” is under the brand name.

The back of the package lists the ingredients in the product’s proprietary blend but does not indicate the presence of Nortadalafil.

Schwinnng was sold at www.amazon.com and www.schwinnng.com.

Reason for Recall

Nortadalafil is a drug not approved for use in over-the-counter medications and supplements. Additionally, the company listed does not have approval to use the drug and has not disclosed its presence in the supplement on the packaging.

Impacts

Hypotension, the most likely result of combining these drugs, may lead to symptoms such as lightheadedness, fainting, weakness, confusion, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and even DEATH.

The following medications pose the highest risk of interaction:

  • Nitroglycerin
  • Nitrostat
  • Nitromist
  • Nitrolingual Pumpspray
  • Nitro-Bid
  • Nitropress
  • Nitroprusside
  • Nitro-Dur
  • Transderm-Nitro
